    • No, don't feel guilty GollumX, you gave an honest account of your experiences and lots of other people are happy with Servint too.
Just didn't work out for us.

Plus, you've helped us out plenty of times on the forum and that's worth it's weight in gold :-)

    • I have 2 dedicated servers - 1 with Aplus.net and 1 with GoDaddy.com

I'm completely happy but would love to find the same quality server for a cheaper price.

    • Is someone here a beta tester of MediaTemple GS MySql 5? How is it?
I'd like to sign up with MT but they still use MySql 4 on their GS server.

      Thanks.

    • I've am with IXwebhosting... not so hot.
Siteground is good but support is not always tops.
BlueHost however has been really good. Support is good and "Rapid Script" their proprietary version of Fantastico takes about 3 minutes to install and bring up Joomla.

      Bluehost.

    • I have been in the hosting business for around two years now and have tried several hosts, every time its a real mess when moving around!

From shared hosting to reseller accounts, VPS and dedicated servers I have found a reliable hosting provider at last. Acenet Inc was the answer with security being priority and prices really affordable almost to good for words. Support is a quick cup of coffee away and the solution even faster. These guys know the business and will stick around for a long time to come.

They are investing as they grow whilst thinking about you in the process, I have had NO downtime over the last few months and that is the way I want to keep it.

    • Well, I do my own hosting instead of using shared hosting, and this would mean that I today got 5 servers. 1 at Limestone Networks, 1 at The Planet and 3 at Rapidswitch (UK). But the company I own with my best friend, is coloing 7 servers (a 42U rack) for a private forum/website we run. (Not a public forum.)

    • Hi there,

I'm currently hosted with Hostpapa.ca. I've had numerous problems with my account. Althought they always respond to all ticket, it's not always satisfactory. I'm managing several accounts for other peoples all on hostpapa and I can say that the respond time too long on any of their servers.

Recently I had to open another account for another person and I did it on Hostgator.com. So far so good. The respond time is a lot faster on their servers than on those of Hostpapa (particularly on rush hours). Also I had to deal one time with the support at Hostgator and it was a pleasant experience so I'm thinking about moving all my accounts there as soon as they come to their expiration.

They have the "Baby" linux account for 7.95$ à month with unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwith, unlimited FTP accounts (that is convenient for multiple joomla 1.5 installation).

    • To give an example of the service I received at servint.com Essential VPS.

I run Parallels (Plesk) on this VPS and was at version 8.x.

Parallels just released a new version 9.0 which has many improvements but the update was not working. Looking at the Servint forums they mentioned discovering issues with the upgrade and to open a ticket to have it resolved by support running the upgrade. Within 5 minutes of opening a ticket 1st level support responded forwarding the ticket to a 2nd level tech and in under 24 hours 2nd level ran the update.

    • i've had most of my client sites with jodohost.com for a few years now; some on a VPS, some on a regular reseller account. Their tech response is fast, their prices are good, and they've got some really helpful users on their forums. Really happy. Tried Rochen a few years ago and wasn't too impressed given that they're one of the legacy joomla players out there (I believe they still host joomla.org).
