Just found out that pair.com does not completely support Joomla 1.5. I asked them if they could install suPHP but they cannot. I am looking to move my sites to godaddy since this is where my domain names are. My sites are low traffic. Feedback?
Will godaddy support 1.5 and uploading extensions with me as owner? That was the problem at pair.
GoDaddy supports 1.5,,, AND you have complete freedom to do as you wish,,, well,, at least I have never had them tell me I cant do this or that ( yet)
there are some limits with shared hosting, but those limits are obvious ones for security reasons..but you can run 1.5 on shared hosting and never have problems.
Do NOT use GODADDY. It is slow and there are issues.
The one MAJOR one is if you want to back up your site wwith JOOMLAPACK, you cannot do it the normal way. Joomlapack even goes as far to have a GODADDY DISCLAIMER thread that states you must use a workaround on GODADDY. This is cuz you cannot make those zip files.
Also, aside from the fact that you cannot UNZIP to make upgrades, it can be a pain in the keister.
Im using Evohosting (
www.evohosting.co.uk
) and i love absolutly averything about them!
The one and only downside is that if you are unlucky and need support (allways within 24h you get answer) the guy dosn't have english as a strong quality. So he and you can missunderstod eachother. This has happend to me once.
I am using two hosts - one in the US, the other one in Germany.
US Host
German Host
I got some small problems with the firewall of my US Host, but they help fast and got a friendly support. With the German Host I got NO PROBLEMS at all. It's cheap and the have the newest technic + great support! I advice all my clients to use them.
